Senior Tax ManagerJoin our tax team at Land O'Lakes as a Senior Manager of Indirect Tax and provide your strategic expertise and guidance for this team and as we look to the future. You will play a pivotal role in managing all aspects of state and local sales, use, and property tax compliance for all our entities while managing a team of three tax professionals. Ensure the accuracy of sales tax and use tax assessments on capital and expense purchases, and drive process improvements for efficiency and effectiveness.This role is based at our Arden Hills, MN corporate office (hybrid work arrangement each week)Duties of this position:Oversee compliance with indirect tax laws and ensure accurate and timely reporting and payments.Oversee research on capital projects to assess potential indirect tax implications and provide recommendations.Stay updated on changes in indirect tax laws and regulations and communicate relevant updates to stakeholders.Support audits and inquiries from tax authorities, providing documentation, oversight, and expertise as required.Review sales and use tax related processes & procedures and implement improvements to drive efficiency and effectiveness.Oversee external resources engaged to accomplish indirect and property tax related compliance and/or refund efforts.Manage, mentor and develop indirect tax team members.Experience & Education:A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or another related field, or equivalent experience. CPA or Masters in Taxation desired.6 years' experience within a tax function (indirect preferred) at a multinational corporation or related public accounting firm.Prior leadership experience, coaching and developing employees.Demonstrated experience in working with sales tax engines (Vertex preferred). Experience with Alteryx, Power BI and other data analysis tools a plus.Ability to research complex sales and use tax issues and read contract agreements.Strong negotiation skills and in-depth sales tax audit track record across multiple US jurisdictions.Competencies:Excellent interpersonal communication and negotiation skills, both written and oral.Ability to work with all levels of management and understand primary financial drivers in the business.Strong attention to detail and accuracy of analysis and procedures.Excellent trouble shooting, problem resolution, and analysis skills.Prior experience driving process improvement and documenting processes.About Land O'Lakes, Inc.Join us and be part of a Fortune 250, farmer- and member-owned cooperative that is reimagining the business of food.
