Position Overview The Member Services Representative assists members and providers regarding the Health and Welfare and Pension benefits.

Essential Job Functions Communicate with providers and members regarding health, welfare, and pension benefit plan information. Have a complete understanding of and ability to quote medical, dental, and prescription benefits, Health and Welfare eligibility rules, and claim status for members and providers. Verify current information on file with the Health and Welfare Fund regarding HMO, divorce, dependent information, and other personal documents. Assist members in locating contracted providers. Assist members with prescription questions, prescription overrides, and approvals. Calculate and extend eligibility coverage for qualified members on disability. Counsel members who come to the Trust Fund Office for assistance with their Health and Welfare and Pension benefits. Maintain regular attendance and punctuality.

Qualifications Microsoft Office - Word, Outlook, On-Base, basis, Health Rules, Imagenet and Cisco Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing Ability to multi-task while listening to information from members Ability to manage difficult situations, respond promptly to the needs of the member, solicit feedback to improve services, and respond to requests for assistance Have a general understanding of all departments
