Customer Accounting Manager
Job Description
Manage a group of six Customer Accounting specialists. Lead staff by communicating job expectations, providing feedback, and coaching and developing associates to achieve performance results. Responsible for the hiring, training and onboarding of new associates.
Responsible for prompt and accurate application of payments received for sales on customer accounts across multiple systems. Application includes coding of deductions and chargebacks taken by the customer with payment.
Work with accounting, credit, banks, and other third-party vendors to ensure a smooth business process.
Research imbalances in bank reconciliations and AR postings for assigned ledger accounts.
Identify and implement improvements to processes for Customer Accounting team. Improvements include working with third-party vendors to increase automation rates for cash application. Develop strategies for enhancing or leveraging these processes and systems.
Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending workshops, reviewing professional publications, and networking.
Other duties and special projects to be assigned by the Manager and Director of Credit.
Skills and Qualifications Required
Associate’s degree; Bachelor’s degree preferred, with major in accounting or finance. Equivalent years of experience in a substantially similar industry will also be considered
Excellent PC software and systems experience - SAP preferred
Excel proficiency
Attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
