Jacobs Building Mechanical Engineering Intern - Summer 2025 in Appleton, Wisconsin

We are searching for a Building Mechanical Engineering Intern to join our Advanced Manufacturing Facilities Team. You’ll have the opportunity to work on projects that focus on HVAC, Plumbing/Utilities, and fire protection. In this position, you will help make an impact on projects by helping solve real-life challenges for our manufacturing clients in chemical, data center, electric vehicle, industrial, and pulp and paper industries. Working alongside a team of engineers, architects, and designers, you’ll be responsible for creating drawings and simulations using software tools and resources supporting our clients’ overall project goals. Working with other members of the team, you’ll help develop design packages using Revit and other software, generate calculations, design analyses, construction drawings, and specifications.

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering

  • Desire to design building mechanical systems, including HVAC and piping utilities, for buildings and facilities.

  • Attitude of taking independent initiative, exhibiting creative problem-solving, eagerness to learn, while remaining dedicated to teamwork

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Ideally, you will also have

  • Prior relevant internship experience

  • Familiarity with Revit or other 3D software
