Basic Job Functions:

Our greenfield project is a new state-of-the-art sheet steel mill that will produce up to 3 million tons per year once fully operational. This advanced manufacturing facility is to be located in Mason County, along the Ohio River in close proximity to both Huntington and Charleston, WV.

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. Nucor will not sponsor the need for a visa now or in the future.

Nucor Steel West Virginia is seeking a Maintenance Electrician who demonstrates high levels of honesty, integrity, and ownership in everything they do. The selected teammate will ensure the success of the team by SAFELY performing Preventative and Corrective maintenance on steel mill equipment and systems. During construction, maintenance electricians will help build the mill and create our computerized maintenance management system to ensure proper design criteria and equipment reliability.

Job Functions include but are not limited to: Propose and implement innovative solutions to challenges in the steel making process with a focus on safety, reliability, quality, costs, and project management. Perform electrical and electronic troubleshooting and periodic maintenance on equipment. Demonstrate the ability to understand mechanical and electrical schematics. Demonstrate knowledge of high and low voltage electrical systems, programmable logic controllers, instrumentation, AC/DC variable frequency drives, motors & control systems Train teammates on new equipment and/or modifications to existing equipment Have the ability to work weekends, holidays, rotating shifts, scheduled and unscheduled overtime.

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum 2 years' industrial maintenance experience. Fundamental Electrical Theory knowledge. Experience Troubleshooting 480V Motors and Controls. Have the ability to work weekends, holidays, rotating shifts, scheduled and unscheduled overtime.

Preferred Qualifications:

Prior Steel Mill experience. 2-year or 4-year degree in electrical or related field.
