We are excited to announce that Nexagen has a new part-time opportunity for a Senior Accountant with Deltek Experience Title:: Senior Accountant with Deltek Experience Certification Requirement : CPA or CMA certification preferred. Job Description : We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant with very strong expertise in Deltek GovCon software to join our finance team. The Senior Accountant will oversee the company’s accounting operations, including financial reporting, general ledger management, and compliance. This position is ideal for a seasoned accounting professional who excels in a dynamic environment and can manage complex financial tasks with precision and efficiency. Position Responsibilities: Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP. Generate and analyze financial reports using Deltek to provide insights to management. Oversee the maintenance and reconciliation of the general ledger. Ensure accuracy and completeness of all financial data entries and manage the posting of complex journal entries. Lead and manage the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting. Review and post accruals, deferrals, and other adjusting journal entries. Collaborate with the finance team to develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial projections. Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis and recommendations for adjustments. Prepare and coordinate audit schedules and documentation for internal and external audits. Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and regulatory requirements. Oversee cash flow management, including monitoring liquidity and forecasting cash needs. Develop cash flow projections and provide strategic recommendations for optimizing cash management. Assist with the preparation and filing of federal, state, and local tax returns, including sales tax, income tax, and other regulatory filings. Ensure compliance with all tax regulations and assist in tax planning and strategy. Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and implement best practices. Lead initiatives to optimize the use of Deltek software for financial reporting and analysis. Provide oversight, guidance and mentorship to finance team members. Support various ad hoc projects and financial analysis tasks. Qualifications: 5-7 years of accounting experience, with at least 2-3 years in a senior accounting role. Extensive experience with Deltek software is required. Through understanding of government contracting and compliance requirements. Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting principles. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications. Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines. Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments. Willing and able to travel as required. Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field; Master’s degree is a plus.
