This position is part of the broader Accounting and Finance team for NTT Global Data Centers Americas and will be focused on the specific accounting for high-visibility transactions which include but are not limited to various ownership structures, site level accounting reviews, intercompany transactions and business combinations. This role will report directly to the Director and Controller and is expected to successfully assist with multiple simultaneous projects for our growing organization. All tasks will be performed in a manner consistent with best-in-class processes with auditable documentation for revenue and accounts receivable-related accounts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare and manage new or updated accounting procedures based on evolving company entity structures, including but not limited to joint-ventures and variable interest entities, utilizing industry standards and best practices to produce accounting accuracy and efficiency in those areas

  • Interpret U.S. GAAP accounting standards and SEC guidance to enhance or build new accounting process flows to support new, materially significant, and/or complex, unusual transactions or agreements that effect all accounting functions

  • Specific focus on site-level reviews and reconciliations to ensure each stand-alone operation is accounted for in a consistent and appropriate manner for the business within that site

  • Build an enhanced accounting process flow, document the procedures, manage and review all allocations and management service fees among consolidated and non-consolidated operations

  • Perform elimination entries for all financial transactions with non-standard ownership structures

  • Prepare or review technical accounting memorandums for significant transactions and support the review process with finance management and external auditors

  • Identify and document potential impacts of new US GAAP and IFRS accounting standards on the business and assist with the implementation of process and accounting changes for these newly issued accounting standards

  • Review and approve all accounting transactions in the accounting system related to non-standard ownership structures that may include joint ventures, variable interest entities, asset backed securitization or equity method accounting.

  • Gather and explain site-level variances for over 20 different entities and multiple sales offerings using PowerBI dashboards, custom reporting or Excel-based dynamic tables

  • Respond to ad hoc executive requests related to financial performance, trends and go-forward expectations; provide input to strategic decisions that affect accounting operations

  • Build strong relationships with our internal and external partners in order to facilitate clean audits and reviews of accounting controls, procedures and results

  • Work closely with FP&A to develop and improve site-level forecasting accuracy

  • Regular problem-solving of unique transactions with a focus on how the resolution contributes to the accuracy of the financial statements

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Excellent understanding of finance, accounting, budgeting and cost control principles including US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)

  • Experience with purchase accounting, equity-based accounting, divestiture accounting and related topics including but not limited to joint-ventures, variable-interest entities, and special purpose vehicles

  • Strong proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)

  • Experience with PowerBI is highly encouraged

  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills

  • Experience with US GAAP audited financial statements and accompanying footnotes

  • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize and meet deadlines

  • Strong interpersonal skills and professional demeanor

  • Ability to communicate well verbally and in writing.

  • Ability to work well in a team environment and promote inclusiveness and communication among team members.

  • Accountability under minimal supervision and remote-based teaming

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor Degree with an accounting-related emphasis from an accredited school

  • Minimum of seven years experience in accounting functions that include technical and complex transactions, preferably in the technology industry

  • SAP and other ERP experience is desired

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Primarily sitting with some walking, standing, and bending.

  • Able to hear and speak into a telephone.

  • Close visual work on a computer terminal.

  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate any required computer keyboard, mouse, and other technical instruments.

  • Able to lift and carry up to 20 lbs.

WORK CONDITIONS & OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Extensive daily usage of a computer or workstation.

  • This position is expected to be remote for the foreseeable future with an occasional need to be onsite in a shared worked environment.

  • Occasional travel may be required

  • Must possess a current, valid state-issued driver’s license

This is a remote position that requires reliable internet connection and electricity. A monthly stipend is provided to cover expenses associated with working remotely and use of a personal mobile device, if applicable.

NTT Global Data Centers Americas, Inc. offers competitive compensation based on experience, education, and location. Base salary for this position is $ 88,000 - $ 126,000.

All regular full-time employees are eligible for an annual bonus; payout is dependent upon individual and company performance.
