Community Health Systems Maintenance Technician I in Antioch, Tennessee
Job Summary
The Maintenance Technician I is responsible for performing entry-level maintenance and repair tasks for the company's facilities, equipment, and systems. This role will assist in ensuring that all equipment and systems are operational and safe, performing basic repairs, routine inspections, and preventive maintenance.
Essential Functions
Performs preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of all equipment from blueprints, technical manuals, or vendor specifications. Maintenance involves electrical, electronics, and mechanical systems.
Completes daily walk-throughs to ensure that the facility and its grounds are clean and safe such as assisting housekeeping with the upkeep of building common areas, the outside pick-up/stairways, and the building parking facility.
Provides minor and major repair/maintenance of all buildings and equipment on a routine and timely basis.
Responds to tenant and company employee maintenance requests. May be required to provide emergency or unscheduled repairs of facility equipment outside of working hours.
Maintains air conditioning (HVAC) including repair, cleaning, adjusting and repairing systems; diagnoses electrical and mechanical faults for HVAC systems.
Maintains maintenance documentation, maintenance history, and all other appropriate documentation for all projects and corporate equipment repairs.
Understands and comply with all OSHA, safety and PPE requirements.
Assists with maintenance of service equipment, power equipment, tools, and kitchen equipment as needed.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Complies with all policies and standards.
Qualifications
H.S. Diploma or GED required
Less than 1 year experience as a maintenance technician or job related field required
Basic to intermediate experience in HVAC, mechanical maintenance, plumbing, or electrical preferred
Journeyman or relevant industry experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Basic mechanical, electrical, and plumbing troubleshooting skills.
Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
Basic understanding of safety practices and procedures in a maintenance environment.
Licenses and Certifications
- Certified HVAC Technician EPA Section 608 Type Universal preferred
