Position Description At the Anoka County Transportation Department, it is our vision to enhance and protect life by providing safe roads and eliminating traffic congestion. The department has an immediate opening for a Transit Program Specialist who will perform various duties. This positions main responsibilities are to develop, implement and manage programs and activities that increase awareness and use of alternative modes transportation. This is a full-time, non-exempt, hybridposition. Interviews will take place the week of September 2nd, 2024, for those selected to move forward in the hiring process. Pay & Benefits Salary: $60,819 to $72,966 ($29.24 to $35.08 per hour). 2024 Anoka County Salary Schedule Grade 32. $60,819 to $85,113 ($29.24 to $40.92 per hour). 24 days of paid flexible time off and up to 12.5 paid holidays. Advancement/professional development opportunities. Work Location This position will work at the Anoka County Highway building located at 1440 Bunker Lake Blvd NW, Andover MN 55304. This position may be eligible for flexible work arrangements, including hybrid work, with some days working remotely and some days working in the office. (after initial probation is complete) Expected work hours are Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Job Duties and Responsibilities These examples are not all-inclusive and are intended to be illustrative of the primary responsibilities of an Anoka County Transit Program Specialist. Manage grant funding for transit programs, track the budget and ensure program targets are being met. Schedule, advertise, and facilitate community meetings and other outreach activities. Create and oversee transit program marketing and promotional materials. Attend meetings, conferences, and serve on committees and task forces outside the Transportation Division related to transit to represent the Anoka County Transit Office and maintain a connection with the community. Coordinate with regional Travel Management Organizations on events and new Travel Demand Management Coordinator enacting new policies and procedures. Promote marketing campaigns, promotions, and communications that motivate individuals to choose sustainable commuting options, including offering incentives for transit use. Handle program administration and client relationship management tasks, including recordkeeping, program measurement, evaluation, goal setting, reporting, and correspondence. Serve as a point of contact for the transit programs and provide customer service such as answering questions, routing calls, and determining eligibility for programs and grants. Support Anoka County Transit special projects as required. Qualifications and Requirements: Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Needed Requires accreditation from a technical school or applicable trades program and at least 2 years of job-related experience In lieu of the required education, an equivalent combina ion of education and experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Needed Bachelor's degree in urban planning with emphasis on transportation Graphic design experience with programs similar to Canva, etc. Knowledge or ability to work in Metro Transit's Onecommute CRM Webpage development/editing experience Detail oriented and strong organizational skills Ability to multitask Excellent customer service skills Physical Demands and Work Conditions Standard office environment Frequent distraction and multitasking Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus, such as to work on computers. Ability to see colors, shades, and brightness Hearing abilities required for general and phone communication, signals, and machine sounds Assignments are sedentary, occasionally alternating between sitting, standing, walking, crouching, and kneeling as required to perform job responsibilities. Frequent wrist and finger manipulation to complete computer work Occasional lifting of 10-20 lbs. Equipment used includes computers, phones, and standard office equipment Occasional travel to other county work sites as needed.
