Aerotek Shop Helper in Anoka, Minnesota

Job Description/Work Environment :

  • Employees will start out working on an assembly line, learning the products that the company makes.

  • This might involve doing simple mechanical assembly. As they become proficient in certain processes along the line, they will cross train.

  • They will also work in grinding, where they will actually hold a hand grinder and smooth out rough edges, or polish the metal to a nice finish.

  • They may cross train in basic fabrication, cutting sheets of metal to length, which would require the use of a tape measure.

  • If they have the aptitude or previous experience, they may do a little spot welding, which holds the sheet metal in place, while they do the assembly.

  • You will have the opportunity to cross train into MIG welding, but no employee welds full time, so they will need to understand that rotating around the production line is the job.

  • Especially for someone with limited or no on the job experience, this is an excellent opportunity to gain skills, advance, and make good money.

  • If they are doing well and have good attendance, they will get a 50 cent raise after 90 days.

  • Once hired on directly, the company will pay for additional education if they want to advance in something like welding, or even engineering.

  • Very clean environment. Extremely large company, they have three separate buildings in Anoka.

  • The building is NOT air conditioned, so this is something that people need to be locked down on. They are working on an assembly line, and they run some production.

Hours/Pay Rates :

  • All departments run a couple hours of overtime daily before or after shift start or end time depending department. All hours are M-F.

  • Starting pay is anywhere from $18-$25hr depending department, opening, interview, and your experience.

  • Raise after 90 days depending attendance/performance

  • 1 st Shift: 5:30am-3:30pm

  • 3 rd Shift: 11:30pm-7:30am

  • Composites

  • 1 st Shift: 7am-3pm

  • 2 nd Shift: 3pm-11pm

  • 3 rd Shift: 11pm-7am

  • SSO

  • 1 st Shift: 6am-2pm

  • 2 nd Shift: 2pm-10pm

  • 3 rd Shift: 10pm-6am

  • Logistics

  • 1 st Shift: 6 or 7am-2 or 3pm

  • 2 nd Shift: 3pm-1am

  • 3 rd Shift: 11pm-7am
