About the Position: About the Position: The Anniston Army Depot is located in Anniston, Alabama in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountain chain half way between Atlanta, GA and Birmingham, Alabama just off interstate 20. The depot is the largest employer in Calhoun County with approximately 4000 employees. Responsibilities Principal assistant and advisor to the Senior Administrative Officer. Collaborate with other directorate in determining human capital needs for future project. Attends and participates in staff meetings conducted by the Commander and or Senior Administrative Officer. Initiates correspondence and reports based on knowledge of the programs and activities within the organization. GS-09 Experience/Education Requirements: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes principal assistant and advisor to the Senior Administrative Officer. Oversees matters and advises key staff on the Commander's policies and procedures to include analyzing problems and other issues to determine the most appropriate course of action, collaborating with staff at division/directorate-levels. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS-09) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07). Education FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
