The State Highway Administration’s (SHA) District 5 is currently recruiting for a Shop Administrative Technician II in Charles County. This position is open to anyone who meets the minimum qualifications listed below. The resulting list of eligible candidates will be used to fill this vacancy and may be used to fill current and future vacancies in this classification in District 5 (Charles county).

Nature of Work: The main purpose of this position is to pick up, receive and deliver parts and supplies and take physical inventory of supplies, materials and equipment on hand. This position enters and retrieves data by computer and prepares, receives, approves and processes requisitions, invoices and purchase orders for stock replacement, equipment repair and replacement via computer entry. This position also is a MD corporate Credit Card holder and must maintain records of usage and reconciliation. In addition, this position inspects and received items for quality, damage and ensures they are issued to the proper individuals.

Qualifications

Education: Graduation from a standard high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience: One year of experience performing administrative support work and/or receiving, storing, and issuing supplies, materials and equipment in a storeroom, warehouse or other supply storage facility.

Preferred Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • Candidates should be familiar and can operate computerized systems such as FMIS (Financial Management Information System), EORS (Emergency Operations Reporting System), Maximo, and CCMS (Customer Care Management System).

  • Candidates should be able to receive parts and supplies, take physical inventory of supplies, materials and equipment, enter and retrieve data via personal computer.
