MAA is currently accepting applications for the position of Manager, Classification & Compensation (Administrator VI) within the Office of Human Resources at the Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI Marshall Airport).

The Manager, Classification & Compensation is responsible for providing consultation to MAA's management team on classification and compensation related initiatives. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • job analysis/job evaluation studies;

  • reviewing, approving/disapproving all classification requests for position classification, acting capacity designations, compensation, and advisory studies;

  • conducting salary surveys to meet the unique needs of MAA;

  • participating in special studies relative to classification and compensation;

  • overseeing implementation of the Position Appraisal Method (PAM) universal point factor evaluation system;

  • providing technical guidance and assistance to chiefs, directors, managers, and employees on matters related to classification & compensation;

  • managing and maintaining MAA organizational charts;

  • making recommendations for delegated and non-delegated classifications; and

  • providing advice and guidance to MAA management and employees regarding TSHRS policies, procedures and regulations as it relates to compensation.

This position is a hybrid position and allows for combination of telework and in-office work.

This position is located at BWI Marshall Airport in Anne Arundel County, MD.

Qualifications

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience: Six years of experience in administrative staff or professional work. Three (3) years of this experience must have been progressive professional human resources experience in the area of classification and compensation, to include job evaluation and salary administration.

Ideal candidates should possess:

  • SHRM-CP, PHR, or Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) Certification

  • Excellent written and oral presentation skills

Notes:

  1. Candidates may substitute 30 credit hours from an accredited college or university for each year up to four years of the required experience.

  2. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and two years of experience in administrative staff or professional work for the required experience.

  3. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Master's degree from an accredited college or university and one year of experience in administrative staff or professional work for the required experience.

  4. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience involving staff work related to the administration of rules, regulations, policies, procedures and processes, or overseeing or coordinating unit operations or functioning as a staff assistant to a higher ranking commissioned officer on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
