About the Role:

The Senior Inventory Accountant position oversees the management and analysis of Inventory Accounting processes, including but not limited to:

  • Oversee the preparation of general ledger entries related to inventory and ensure timely month-end close.

  • Manage the preparation and presentation of balance sheet and income statement results related to inventory, including variance analysis.

  • Oversee the preparation and analysis of monthly inventory reconciliations, ensuring resolution of outstanding items.

  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and SOX controls, specifically related to inventory valuation and cost recognition.

  • Assist in the coordination of internal and external audits focused on inventory.

  • Document and monitor internal controls related to inventory processes.

  • Lead and mentor other accountants within the inventory team.

  • Assist with special projects, such as inventory system implementations or process improvements.

Preferred Experience:

  • Strong understanding of inventory accounting theory and internal controls.

  • Intermediate knowledge of GAAP, with the ability to research and resolve issues related to inventory accounting.

  • Strong analytical and auditing skills, with the ability to reconcile inventory balances.

  • Proficiency with MS Office, particularly Excel.

  • Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and auditors.

  • Solid problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Proactive and able to work effectively with limited supervision.

  • Experience with inventory management systems; JD Edwards, SQL, and Essbase experience is a plus.

  • CPA preferred.

  • Big 4 experience is a plus.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting

  • 3-5 years of professional level experience, with 1+ years of supervisory experience.

The starting compensation range for this job is $ $63,500 to $81,700.
