Summary About the Position: Serves as a Project Manager, responsible for overall management, control, coordination and execution of assigned projects, the majority of which involve vertical construction. Implements corporate decisions, guidance, laws, regulations and policy in the development of the project and intermediate products in support of the project. Responsibilities Coordinate the activities of multiple Project Delivery Teams engaged in Life Cycle Project Management of individual projects to ensure program objectives are met. Integrate customer requirements, and District resources into a comprehensive management plan that is fully coordinated with all contributing agencies and organizations including various functional elements within the District. Control and manages project budgets and schedules from a programmatic standpoint, assuring that District commitments to customers are met. Negotiate and prepares contract documentation for new task orders and modifications for construction, design-build and Architect-Engineer services. Represent the District and briefs project/program status at conferences with customers and at monthly District Project Review Boards. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Leading Interdisciplinary project delivery teams such as (design, construction, contracting, or others) for effective management of project execution; 2) Developing integrated master schedules for project tasks such as planning, design, construction, or closeout activities; and 3) Preparing budgets/cost estimates for project such as planning, design, and/or construction. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service GS-12 or above. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Financial Management Influencing/Negotiating Oral Communication Planning and Evaluating Project Management Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
