Job Summary

We are actively seeking compassionate, enthusiastic, and patient-oriented individuals who will share in the goal of creating the ideal experience for patients, families and employees.

Utilizes ionizing radiation to create diagnostic imaging radiographs of designated anatomical areas in accordance with established practices and procedures of all age groups. Obtains patient history, explains routine procedures and addresses patient concerns. Provides appropriate patient care following the Radiology Gold Service Excellence guidelines to achieve successful completion of procedure. Exercise professional judgment in the performance of this service following the Code of Conduct of the ARRT. Contribute as a team member to enhance job stewardship mindful of Internal and External customer service standards.

Responsibilities*

  • Performs Diagnostic Procedures

  • Corroborates patient's clinical history with procedure, assuring information is documented and available for use by a licensed practitioner.

  • Positions patients using appropriate radiation protection devices and immobilizing techniques for age specific patient populations.

  • Applies principles of radiation protection to a minimize exposure to patient, self and others.

  • Positions patient to best demonstrate anatomic area of interest, while respecting patients ability and comfort.

  • Selects and operates appropriate radiographic equipment according to established protocols.

  • Evaluates images for technical quality, assuring proper identification is recorded.

  • Assists radiologist with fluoroscopic and radiographic procedures.

  • According to departmental protocols identifies and prepares contrast media under the direction of a Radiologist.

  • Practices aseptic techniques.

  • Maintains knowledge of and observes Universal precautions.

  • Understands and applies Guest Relations skills and displays excellent customer services skills and maintains patient confidentiality.

  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications*

  • Graduation from a school of radiologic technology or an equivalent combination of education and experience is necessary.

  • Registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology is required within the first six months of employment.

  • Maintains ARRT Registration.

  • Maintains BCLS Certification.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Demonstrates critical thinking skills, ingenuity, creativity and professionalism.

  • Demonstrates understanding with all age appropriate guidelines for communication, positioning, radiation exposures and radiation protection.

  • Must have physical ability to push, pull, assist, and transfer patients safely from transportation devices to diagnostic table. Must have the physical ability to push, pull, and assist when placing radiology equipment under the patient. Must be able to move heavy equipment such as a portable. Must display physical dexterity using fine motor skills.

  • Dependability, with history of good standing attendance.

  • Self-reliant, self-sufficient, and takes initiative.

  • Ability to work effectively with team, including fellow Technologists, neighboring modalities, clinic staff, PSA, students/interns, etc

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision at satellite location.

  • Strong teaching and mentor abilities for training of new hires and student interns.

Desired Qualifications*

  • Sectra PACS experience, as well as proficient computer entry skills, including MiChart.

  • Experience with general diagnostics in an Outpatient/Clinic setting, and Bone Density/DEXA exams.

  • Orthopedic Experience

  • Bone Density/DEXA Experience

  • Experience with Level 1 Trauma Center

  • CPR certification

  • Liko Lift Experience
