Job Summary
Seeking a skilled, reliable, compassionate Radiology Technologist with a customer service and team focus.
A technologist utilizes ionizing radiation to create diagnostic imaging radiographs of designated anatomical areas in accordance with established practices and procedures for all age groups. Obtains patient history, explains procedures, and addresses patient concerns. Provides appropriate patient care with service excellence to achieve successful completion of procedure. Exercises professional judgment in the performance of this service following the Code of Conduct of the ARRT.

Responsibilities*
The role is full-time located at West Ann Arbor Radiology with a set rotation of coverage on days, afternoons, and weekends.
- Performs diagnostic imaging
a. Validates the patient's clinical history with procedure, assuring information is documented and the exam ordered following patient identification guidelines. Utilizes proper workflow processes when using Epic(MiChart), Radiant and Sectra applications.
b. Utilizes proper radiation protection devices and immobilization techniques for the specific age population following Radiation Safety protocols for the patient and self.
c. Properly positions the patient for proper anatomic demonstration while respecting the patient's condition and abilities.
d. Utilizes the radiographic equipment following proper protocols.
e. Provide diagnostic high-quality images for interpretation understanding the pediatric population and the need for low dose imaging.
f. Assist the Radiologist in a fluoroscopy suite following the fluoroscopy guidelines and proper designated use of contrast media if applicable.
g. Operates portable c-arm equipment in the operating room (if needed) providing images as directed by the surgeon and utilizes sterile techniques when applicable.
h. Performs mobile examinations in various settings when applicable.
Understands and applies guest relation skills following the Patient and Families First Principles.
Identify and enter data into MiChart and Sectra.
Reviews the orders for all patient Radiographic exams.
Educate and monitor mandatory competencies for patient safety, infection control, fire safety, corporate compliance, and patient confidentiality. Including additional assigned educational modules for self-improvement.
Maintain BCLS certification and ARRT registry
Work consistently as a team member willing to assist everyone, crossing modalities or clinical settings when needed.
Follow Infection Control practices utilizing aseptic techniques, observing universal precautions, and patient safety standards.
Assists with on-boarding of new staff members and assists with the student program
Required Qualifications*
The role is full-time, providing coverage on days, weekends, and afternoons.
Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) or to be registry eligible.
Experience with all patients, understanding age-appropriate guidelines for professional communication, positioning, and radiation protection.
Evaluate and follow work processes to ensure patient identification, evaluation of images for quality, selecting correct exposure factors.
Sufficient locomotor and dexterity skills necessary for health care delivery and safety.
Auditory skills to monitor patient and area for safety, visual ability to assess the patient needs, tactile ability to manipulate body parts for appropriate imaging.
Cognitive ability sufficient for patient assessment and operation of equipment and care of patient.
Demonstrated excellent customer service skills utilizing critical thinking skills that demonstrate ingenuity, creativity, and professionalism.
Demonstrated a strong history of excellent attendance.
Demonstrated a strong background of teamwork, hard work, and flexibility
Demonstrated the ability to get along with teammates and management in previous roles
Desired Qualifications*
BLS Certification and ARRT registration or the ability to obtain items listed above.
Work Schedule
40 hrs per week, varied shift with days, afternoons, and weekends.
