The Opportunity
As a stress engineer on the Mechanical Piping Team, this professional will function as a technical specialist or in a lead role. They will have the opportunity to:
Perform detailed stress analysis of both metallic and nonmetallic piping, evaluating conditions such as: elevated temperature service, low temperature/cryogenic service, piping loads at sensitive equipment such as steam turbines, pumps, compressors/expanders and air-cooled heat exchangers, pulsating service, flow-induced vibration, and transient loads.
Coordinate work between domestic and international offices. Assigns tasks to and coordinates with other internal/external team members on complex projects.
Initiatecontact with other disciplines as needed to identify and coordinate details of the work.
Prepare purchase specifications and administer pipe support purchase order contracts with domestic and international suppliers.
Prepareand qualifypipe support designs satisfying all applicable ASME B31 Pressure Piping Codes and associated ASME Standards, as well as both client and jurisdictional requirements for pressure piping.
Travel to job sites for walkdowns and hanger inspections for both existing and new-build facilities.
Expand their knowledge and skill set in their area of discipline.
Expand knowledge in other disciplines and/or functional areas and provide mentoring and training to junior engineers.
The Team
The Mechanical discipline is global group of professionals that deliverhigh quality, on time design and services projects in the areas of Power, Gas, Fuels & Chemicals, Water and Waste Water, Data Centers, and Mining including everything Mechanically related to Process and Power (from Conventional, Combined Heat and Power, Hydro, Hydrogen, Nuclear, Solar/Renewable, LNG, Ammonia, Fertilizer) projects to specialized Air Quality Control, HVAC, Fire Protection, Piping, Thermal and Renewable performance estimating and testing.

Preferred Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years’ experience relevant to pipe stress analysis and piping design.
Technical depth in both the ASME B31.1 ASME B31.3 Pressure Piping Codes, as well as using engineering design principles and applicable design guides and standards related to piping design.
Working knowledge of ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code Sections I, II, III, and VIII.
Working knowledge of AutoPIPE and Caesar II stress analysis software.
Intermediate knowledge of other design standards and specifications such as API, ASTM, and AWWA.
Intermediate knowledge of other disciplines, industry and technology trends, company quality program, principals of construction and constructability practices, and procurement and contract administration.
Working knowledge of processes and procedures for project controls and estimating.
Advanced ability to interpret engineering deliverable content as assigned.
Actively seeks to understand client interests and drivers through normal client contact and through interaction and communication with project leadership.
Applies understanding of client interests and drivers to their own behavior and performance of the work under his/her responsibility.
Apply advanced engineering techniques and analyses for problems and methods with minimal supervision.
Minimum Qualifications
Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from either a recognized accredited program in their home country or the country in which the professional is practicing. Minimum of 5 years related work experience All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.
Certifications
Professional Engineer (P.E.) License or in active pursuit of such licensure
Work Environment and Schedule
This position would require working in a typical office environment. The position may entail prolonged periods of sitting and computer use, and the professional would ideally be able to maintain focus and attention to detail throughout the workday. The position may also be require physical tasks during site visits, including crouching, grasping, and standing/walking for extended periods of time.
