Instruments Field Service Technician (Medical Equipment)

Our Ophthalmic Instrument Division is currently seeking an experiencedField Service Technician. This position may be home based in the Ann Arbor area. This is an excellent opportunity to join our team…We are a multi-line distributor of the finest ophthalmic instrumentation in the industry!

Job Summary

Perform on-site service and sales support at customer locations. Other responsibilities include: New equipment installations and office relocation as well as generating additional business by cold calling on new customers; Prepare service receipts for quotations and invoicing, preparation and packaging of instruments for delivery or shipping.

Experience/Qualifications

• 3 years of experience with ophthalmic or medical instrumentation;

• Minimum 2 years of experience with electrical/mechanical background;

• Recent graduates with an Associates’ Degree in Electronics Technology or Biomedical Technology programs are encouraged to apply;

• Understanding of electrical/mechanical, schematics/drawings required

• Strong communication skills required…A positive attitude and desire to provide world-class customer service required

• Must be willing to travel up to 60% of the time, with overnight stays required

• Must possess a valid driver’s license and insurable driving record that complies with the Walman Optical Company Motor Vehicle Policy

• Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
