Job Summary

The Healthy Lifetime Program (HL) is a business entity within the School of Nursing that provides top-of-class services to older adults to support optimum health and independence in aging. The program is completely virtual, including the continuing education of nurses who provide the services, and as such, is not bound to geographic locations for service provision. The business offers 'direct to consumer' programming that integrates the school of nursing faculty as providers and students as learners to fulfill curricular requirements. The HL program also contracts with other business entities to support their use of the program through licensing and other contractual agreements.

This is intended as a part-time term-limited position but will start as a part-time 75% position based on HL organization development. Due to the source of salary funding, support for this position will end if/when the Healthy Lifetime program ends.

Responsibilities*

  • Sets tactical direction, focus, and staging of activities for the HL program.

  • Sets business targets using data-driven and tactical planning.

  • Manages day-to-day activities of program leaders, including financial officer, marketing, and sales directors, and assures a system of personnel oversight and supervision throughout the HL organization.

  • Assures organizational learning through research, quality review of systems, and staff assignments and mentoring.

  • Manages community relations inside and outside the University of Michigan.

  • Assures compliance with all federal, state, and university regulations and policies.

  • Assures all critical role functions are performed in the absence of staff delegates.

  • Assures ramp-up of critical roles as the business expands.

  • Provides reports on all aspects of Program Development on quarterly basis and through regular communications to the Chief Executive Officer.

  • Provide supervision of two (2) Direct Reports, Financial Specialist and Clinical Services Manager.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED

Supervision is received from Chief Executive Officer of the Healthy Lifetime Program ( HL ) and will have some scientific collaboration with the Associate Director for Education and Training, Michigan Institute for Data Science.

Required Qualifications*

  • PhD or equivalent in health and behavioral sciences.

  • At least five years experience in progressive administrative/executive roles in startup environments.

  • Experience in designing and conducting research in new product development.

  • Demonstrated performance in clinical and business operations, growth, and capacity building in startup organizations; experience in organizations like HL is an advantage.

  • Demonstrated communication and trust-building skills.

  • Demonstration analytical and decision-making skills.

  • Ability to develop partnerships and networks of s necessary for successful program growth

  • Skill in talent acquisition and management.

  • Creates a culture of acceptance, trust, and inclusion for a diverse faculty, staff and students working within the HL program.

Work Schedule

Between 8:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday; may include some occasional weekend and/or evening hours.Currently, this position has the option to be hybrid/remote will be reviewed annually per the university and School of Nursing policy.
