ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Applies suitable electrodes on predetermined measured positions on patient, and checks their performance.
Calibrates and adjusts the EEG/EP apparatus.
Selects predetermined electrode combinations and special combinations. Obtains recordings, recognizes and eliminates artifacts.
Obtains relevant information from patient and chart.
Types, photocopies and files reports and sends copies to appropriate location. Prepares records for microfilming.
Prepares and forwards charge slips for professional fees and charges on PCIS for technical fee billing.
Maintains good rapport and cooperative relationships. Approaches conflict in a constructive manner.
Maintains the confidentiality of information acquired pertaining to patient, physicians, employees, and visitors to St. Joseph Mercy Hospital.
Provides high quality patient care by considering age specific, developmental and cultural needs through competent clinical practice. Demonstrates unit/are competencies.
Behaves in accordance with the Mission, Vision and Values of St. Joseph Mercy Health System.
Additional duties as assigned by the hiring manager/supervisor.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE
- Requires high school diploma or equivalent. 6-12 months experience in EEG and Evoked Potentials.
POSITION PURPOSE
- Performs standard and complex electroencephalographic recordings and evokes potential recordings and is required to take call.
