Job Title: Python Machine Automation Engineer (Onsite, 12-Month Contract)

Location: Ankeny, Iowa

Pay Range: Competitive, Based on Experience

What’s the Job?

Experis is seeking a Python Machine Automation Engineer for a 12-month contract to join our team. As part of a dynamic Research & Development environment, the candidate will:

  1. Program robots and automated machinery using Python.

  2. Create interactive web pages using Python and React for machine interaction.

  3. Design and develop databases and JSON APIs to support automated systems.

  4. Provide feedback on product design and specification processes.

  5. Develop, debug, test, implement, and enhance software programs in agricultural research automation.

What’s Needed?

  1. 5+ years of programming experience, with 2+ years of hands-on Python development.

  2. Proficiency in SQL Query Development and Relational Database Design.

  3. Experience in JSON API development.

  4. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.

  5. Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred (but not required) Qualifications:

  1. Experience with PLC - Structured Text/Ladder Logic.

  2. Familiarity with FastAPI, Socket.IO, and Vue.js.

  3. Experience with CI/CD pipeline development.

  4. Proficiency in Git source control.
