JOB SUMMARY
With limited supervision from the Security Director, this position is responsible for managing the overall security services operations at the Arctic Slope Regional Corporation (ASRC) building in Anchorage, AK. The Lieutenant provides leadership to the security personnel assigned to the ASRC contract and is responsible for the safety and security of the building tenants and property located at the ASRC building in the event of assault, theft, vandalism, harassment, or other disruptive incidents.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent
Able to proficiently speak, read, understand, and write English
At least 21 years of age
At least three years of law enforcement, military, or security experience, preferably working in building security, or an equivalent combination of experience
Current State of Alaska Armed Guard License or able to obtain
Certified in Oleoresin Capsicum or able to be within 90 days
Certified in CEW (Taser) or able to be within 90 days
Certified as an Emergency Trauma Technician within 120 days
Must be able to become armed qualified under DUS firearms training program
Valid Alaska Driver’s License
Mandatory completion of Defensive Driving Course within 14 days of employment
Current Emergency Trauma Technician Certification within 120 days of employment
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice or equivalent.
Completion of a law enforcement or military supervisor’s training academy
Knowledge of developing and implementing emergency action plans (EAPs)
One (1) year experience in the planning and execution of required drills and exercises at a regulated healthcare facility.
Knowledge of developing and implementing security post orders consistent with a healthcare or other regulated facility.
Knowledge of maintaining a Security Officer Training Program.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Customer Service
Manage security team’s needs (i.e., gear, equipment, training, scheduling, pay role time cards, leave requests/approval, disciplinary actions, etc.)
Review and write/rewrite post orders, Emergency Action Plans (EAP), policies, procedures, and essential job duties for the security team.
Review and approve incident and use of force reports
Audit facility access
Audit incidents within the facility’s property
Maintain essential documents and files
Writing officer performance reviews
Act as the direct liaison between the security team and the client
Act as the direct liaison between the security team and DUS headquarters
Coordinate security coverage for special projects
Enforce client policies and procedures
Oversee the transfer of the client’s company weapons to and from the weapons safe
Provide protection of work sites, personnel and assets from such events such as assault, theft, vandalism, harassment and other disruptive incidents
Control access of personnel, materials and equipment to and within the work sites.
Perform security patrols of the work sites
Respond to general alarms, power outages, broken water/power lines and security breaches of any kind
Assume the role as the Emergency Response Coordinator (ERC) for all drills and emergencies
Respond to emergencies after regular working hours
Utilize Microsoft Office and other commonly used computer programs
Maintain radio/telephone communications
Ability to work in a constant state of alertness in a safe manner
Manage the Floor Warden Program
Manage Lost and Found
Willingness to perform other duties as required
Willingness to work at various locations as required
