Carlile Transportation Receiving Associate - Swing Shift ($20.02 - $30.03 DOE + $2/hr Swing Shift Differential) in Anchorage, Alaska

Essential Duties

· Operate safely and in compliance with all established HSSE policies and procedures

· Create a bill of lading and barcode labels from the inspection of inbound freight documents for the appropriate shipper, consignee, billing party, commodity description, hazmat description, shipment reference numbers, piece count, weights, and dimensions

· Work with management to increase the efficiencies and accuracy of the receiving and data entry processes

· Identify Logistics pre-bookings, customer special needs, determine shipment method based on destination, and prioritize based on contract, reference numbers, or email communications

· Schedule receiving appointments for inbound freight via email or by phone

· Communicates with employees in various departments as well as customers to resolve freight issues, missing freight, hazmat documentation, and other discrepancies

· Verify documentation is signed off by driver and receiving staff.

· Completes final review of own work; verifies accuracy, makes changes or corrections as necessary before completing freight bill for auto or manual billing

· Assists with scanning/imaging receiving documentation and resolving questions/issues that arise in the imagining system (Synergize)

· Research and identify hazardous materials and enter them correctly in Operating Software (TruckMate) before shipment departure.

· Monitors re-consigned inbound shipments and ensures appropriate shipping labels are created and affixed to the freight.

· Monitors various reports to assist freight operations.

· Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

· High school diploma or GED equivalent

· Minimum of one year of experience in warehousing, dock facility, receiving, freight forwarding or transportation in an administrative role.

· Prior customer service experience preferred

· Experience with Microsoft Office Suite required

· IATA, IMDG, 49CFR knowledge and use in a professional role preferred

· Prior Hazardous Materials or Hazardous Waste freight experience preferred

Qualifications

The total hourly range for this position, Receiving Associate, is $20.02 to $30.03, but Carlile Transportation does not typically hire at or near the top of the hourly range. The typical hiring range for this role is $26.45 to $28.60. The actual offer considers multiple factors, including but not limited to education, experience, internal equity, and other organizational needs.
