McFarland Clinic PC Optometric Assistant (PT) | Optometry | West Ames | 2024-141 in Ames, Iowa

Description

McFarland Clinic has an opening for an energetic an Optometric Assistant for West Ames office. The candidate is expected to be a team player, willing to learn basic ophthalmic techniques as well as the working of advanced ophthalmic equipment.

Responsibilities include: Prepares patients for exams. Takes visual acuity and preforms basic screening tests, educates patients, refills medications and performs ancillary tests. Schedules patients and answer phone calls. Position comes with competitive clinic pay and valuable benefits package.

Education

  • High School Diploma, GED or HiSET

Days: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday

Hours: Monday, Tuesday & Thursday 8:00 AM 5:00 PM, Friday 8:00 AM - Noon

Experience

  • Ophthalmic experience preferred but not required/ on the job training available.

  • Excellent customer service skills and willing to be able to multi-task.

  • Keyboard and computer experience.

  • One year of work experience in medical office setting preferred.
