Job Description:
The Office of the Registrar at Iowa State University is looking for an energetic and skilled Associate Registrar to join our leadership team. Reporting directly to the University Registrar, this strategic role leads the Tuition & Fees team and the Curriculum Management team within the Office of the Registrar. You will be responsible for establishing the operational metrics and key performance indicators for the teams you oversee, and for identifying opportunities for continuous improvement. You will also play a significant role in developing, documenting, and implementing procedures and refining processes to ensure maximum efficiency for our students, office staff, and campus partners while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and university policies.
The ideal candidate will be a strong leader who can work alongside the leaders of the teams it oversees to establish a clear direction and actionable goals that align with the office’s mission and vision. This position must also be able to effectively communicate the need for in-production fixes when issues arise. Moreover, as new opportunities and shifting priorities are realized, the successful candidate will help ensure the teams it oversees are agile and nimble while maintaining a positive disposition. Your ability to think strategically, execute tasks efficiently, and deliver exceptional service will be crucial in this role.

Example of Duties
Team Leadership and Management: Align directives with strategic goals, manage staffing and development, oversee budgets, conduct performance reviews, and drive employee engagement.
Strategy, Policy, and Planning: Participate in senior leadership teams, track strategic metrics, recommend projects, ensure policy compliance, and implement continuous improvements.
Operational and Functional Leadership: Oversee Tuition & Fees and Curriculum Management, manage enrollment and fee processes, support technical innovations, and ensure data security and compliance.
Compliance and Resource Management: Maintain current knowledge of state and federal laws, regulations, and university policies. Ensure Registrar processes meet all requirements, collaborating with stakeholders to implement institutional changes as needed. Work with fiscal officers on budgeting and maintain efficient, student-focused operations.
Collaboration and Decision-Making: Work with campus leadership and external stakeholders, refine standard procedures, and make recommendations aligning with institutional goals.
