Job Title: Quality Control Technician

Job Description

Support Production and Lab through the careful analysis of product samples and physical testing of product attributes or variables to ensure the quality of products meets or exceeds company and/or customer requirements. The role demands a full commitment to excellence in Occupational Health, Safety, and Environment (OHSE) and Quality, with the goal of protecting and promoting the environment, health, and safety of all employees and the community.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct physical and visual testing on raw material, work in process, and finished goods to determine fitness for use. Compile all associated records.

  • Compare samples from each printed load to standard, record inspection data, and tabulate defect information.

  • Generate notices of non-conforming material.

  • Participate as a supportive member of the team on internal system and process audit reporting.

  • Follow all laboratory control methods to document all tested samples according to company policies and procedures.

  • Maintain quality records and file necessary reports and records as required.

  • Maintain and administer quality document control procedures.

  • Submit claims to suppliers for defective material following proper documentation and disposition protocol.

  • Assist and train General Technicians in the sorting process and generate all necessary paperwork related to assessing the waste and its cause.

  • Follow and actively support the quality management system, quality policy, quality objectives, quality procedures, work instructions, and quality records.

  • Strive to continuously improve the quality system through communication, job performance, and safety.

  • Understand the OHSE obligations, actively support the policy, and implement the guiding principles in everyday activities.

  • Perform all other duties and/or tasks as may be assigned by management.

Essential Skills

  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 standards

  • Quality control and quality assurance practices

  • Inspection and inventory control techniques

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Basic knowledge of quality systems

  • Basic PC skills

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Understanding of OHSE obligations and active support of the policy in everyday activities
