Amentum Shipping/Receiving Lead in Amarillo, Texas

Amentum is seeking a Shipping/Receiving Lead to join our team in Amarillo, TX!

Responsibilities:

  • Documenting and controlling receipt, condition, and issuance of all tooling for the GE Amarillo facility.

  • Facilitate availability of tooling in a timely fashion to the facility.

  • Develop and maintain a close working relationship with the GE engineering group and other site tooling stakeholders.

  • Prepare, maintain, issue, and communicate receiving and issuance data, non-conformance documentation, maintenance records, and other instruments necessary for documenting the material control and warehousing processes and for maintaining auditable records.

  • Plan, layout, arrange for, and maintain loading and unloading areas, adequately secured storage facilities, lay-down areas, and material handling equipment, appropriately sized and designed for the types and sizes of goods to be handled

  • Receive all incoming shipments; arrange for and oversee unloading and handling of goods; verify the shipping documents against the goods received; count, weigh, or measure all receipts; arrange for receiving inspections; identity and document discrepancies; ensure proper identification; and document storage location.

  • Maintain records of on-hand inventory, perform cycle counts and otherwise verify the accuracy of the on-hand inventory records, and take other necessary precautions to avoid schedule delays related to material availability.

  • Ensure tooling is properly stored, protected, and maintained according to manufacturers and Company standards as required to preserve warranty requirements and protect against damage and loss

  • Generate purchase requisitions for warehouse operations, replacement of consumables, and other goods ordered locally on a min/max basis.

  • Fill properly authorized warehouse requests; pull tooling from storage; bag, tag, and otherwise prepare tooling for issuance; and make the goods available at the point and time of need.

  • Arrange and process returns, transfers, and outside services on tooling; prepare shipping documentation and instruments to transfer care, custody, and control of the tooling

  • Overall administration and management of the warehousing facilities, equipment, inventory, and records management system.

  • Other duties as assigned by Manager or Supervisor.

Minimum Requirements

  • High School diploma, General Education Degree (GED) or demonstrated equivalent.

  • 2 years of related experience and/or training including a demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Suite; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Must be able to demonstrate an acceptable rate of speed and accuracy.

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.

  • Must be computer literate in common software applications and able to write simple correspondence via email.

Additional Information:

  • Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.

  • Must be willing to work overtime when required. May be required to work holidays and weekends.

Physical Requirements:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feet; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.

  • The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.

  • Some tasks will require repetitive wrist movement.

  • Requires the ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Requires the ability to regularly climb extension ladders, roof ladder, stepladders, and stairs at least 10 times during shift.

  • Requires the flexibility to bend/stoop, squat repetitive during shift.

  • Requires the ability to regularly kneel repetitive for shift.

  • Requires the ability to move in a 90-degree fashion on a repetitive basis for shift.

  • Requires the ability to stretch/reach on a repetitive basis for shift.

  • Requires the ability to walk extensively throughout the plant during shift.

  • Requires the use of a Company/Client approved utility knife.

  • Some tasks will require repetitive wrist movement.

  • Requires the ability to interact with all clients in a professional and friendly manner despite periods of stress.

Special Requirements:

  • Wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed.

  • Cope with demands (stressors) that are associated with the job and/or the work environment so that acceptable levels of performance and overall contribution are maintained.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior warehouse, tool crib, or parts crib experience.

  • Experience with Ariba system, Material Handling Systems, Work Order / CMMS Systems, Hazardous Materials Systems, and/or crib systems.

  • Willing and able to work Monday-Saturday as needed.

  • Experience operating forklifts, or willingness to be trained at facility.

  • Technical certification or specialized training preferred.
