We are currently hiring seasonal Energy Assistance Workers at the Blair County Assistance Office to assist eligible Pennsylvanians in accessing benefits through the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP). DESCRIPTION OF WORK As Energy Assistance Workers you will be processing initial benefit applications as well as CRISIS applications for the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP). This is a full-time, seasonal position that typically runs for 6-8 months during the fall and winter seasons to assist clients in the process of applying for heating assistance. After receiving on the job training, you will be performing various duties such as interviewing clients, acting as a liaison with heating vendors, reviewing and completing applications received in order to recommend approval or disapproval of benefits consistent with Federal and State Regulations. The majority of this job is completion work through data entry. Work assignments are limited in scope and performed under close supervision of an Income Maintenance Casework Supervisor who reviews work for completeness, accuracy, and adherence to the program regulations. You may perform other related duties as assigned.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
This is a full-time seasonal position with the LIHEAP program. Seasonal employment runs from approximately October to April but employment may begin as early as September and last until June. Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch. Work hours may change base on operational needs Travel and overtime as needed Assigned duties are performed in a controlled office environment. In counties with District Offices, employees may be reassigned to different work sites due to operational needs. Reassignments will be made in compliance with contract language. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
Two years of experience in general office work which included interviewing the public; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training. Other Requirements:
