Your role as a Bus Aide

As a Full-Time Bus Aide at Child Advocates of Blair County, your role is pivotal in ensuring the safety and well-being of our young passengers during their journey to and from school and events. You'll be the friendly face greeting each child at pick-up and bidding them farewell at drop-off, creating a warm atmosphere of trust. Your responsibilities include buckling each child into their seat before the bus moves-safety first! To maintain order, you'll engage the kids with fun activities throughout the ride. It's crucial to ensure that every child is handed over to a responsible adult listed on their Emergency List, preventing any child from being left unattended.

Lastly, you'll communicate preliminary pick-up and drop-off times and locations to parents at least two days before school starts, helping everyone stay informed and prepared for a fantastic school year!

What we're looking for in a Bus Aide

To thrive as a Full-Time Bus Aide at Child Advocates of Blair County, you'll need a unique blend of skills and qualifications that ensure our young riders feel safe and cared for. A High School Diploma or G.E.D. is essential, as it demonstrates your foundational education. You'll need excellent communication skills to foster positive interactions with children and effectively relay information to parents.

A knack for organization will help you keep track of each child's pick-up and drop-off details, ensuring their safety. Patience and a nurturing demeanor are vital when managing lively bus trips, along with the ability to engage kids in enjoyable activities. Additionally, being adaptable and ready to respond to any situation will ensure a secure and supportive environment, making you an indispensable part of our dedicated team!

Knowledge and skills required for the position are:
