Schedule: Hybrid - On site at least two days a week - Full-Time, M-F 8:30a-5p

The role you’ll contribute:

The Director Imaging Infrastructure is responsible for providing IT leadership oversight and direction for the department’s team members, processes, technology and customers on the design, implementation, and support a strategic portfolio of IT Imaging systems. This robust portfolio represents a broad range of IT application services for imaging services across all AdventHealth Facilities along with other emerging technology strategies. Under minimal supervision this position requires the development and broad socialization of IT concepts and proposed IT strategies through AdventHealth Systems highly-matrixed, integrated delivery network. The Director develops relationships with executives and engages key stakeholders (executives, physicians, employees, vendors) to facilitate the conceptualization and approval of large-scale IT projects within AIT’s defined governance structures. This position mentors and leads a diverse array of IT teams to execute on the IT strategies that AdventHealth System has approved and acts as a subject matter expert, in their assigned portfolio, for the executive team. The role is a participant with the Department’s Directors, Regional CIO, CIO, CCIO, CMIO and CCO in the development and execution of the 1-3-year IT Roadmap, large-scale project budgeting, operational budgeting, risk mitigation and project planning, vendor management, and executive communications. As part of a service organization, the Director actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

The value you’ll bring to the team:

  • Provides oversight, development, planning, implementation, and support for the AdventHealth Enterprise including but not limited to Radiology and Cardiology Imaging.

  • Provide leadership in the planning, evaluation and application support of the clinical information systems across the AdventHealth environments encompassing all clinical disciplines and areas, including but not limited to: physicians, nursing, radiology, cardiology, surgery, anesthesia, emergency department, oncology, and endoscopy.

  • Responsible for the core functions of the organization’s primary EMR, including but not limited to, organizational architectures, position security and access, orders/result management impacting the entire AHS enterprise including both radiology and cardiology systems.

  • Leader and Facilitator for Documentation content review to include but not limited to Physicians, nursing, radiology, cardiology, surgery, anesthesia, emergency department, oncology, and endoscopy.

  • Facilitates the design, development and configuration of information systems and the policies and procedures aimed at maximizing efficiency, standardization, quality, patient safety and compliance resulting in maximum value to the organization. Analyzes the use of technology and utilizes performance improvement and change management science to continuously improve clinical safety, quality and the satisfaction of customers, staff and partners.

  • Develops leaders and staff to drive high levels of engagement and to ensure deep technical and informatics skills, up-to-date healthcare industry knowledge and the promotion of collaboration, innovation, and a customer focused approach to all work.

  • Consistently drives improvements in information systems services through the execution of excellence in financial management, performance measurement, issue management, project management and the use of ITSM methodology.

  • Sorts priorities and accomplishes those of greatest importance. Demonstrates verbal ability to analyze issues and effectively present ideas and views to the highest levels of the organization. Is able to work well with people at all levels of the organization and lead group efforts toward the resolution of complex problems in a professional, courteous, and impartial manner. Demonstrates leadership ability, creativity, and self-direction. Supports AIT leadership and is responsible to help, coach and mentor team for growth.

  • Participates in internal and/or external training programs, staying current and compliant on application or technical skills applicable to assigned duties. Ensures Employee Assessment Forms are completed to provide for employees’ future career growth. Ensures team is in compliance with all education requirements. Recruits, hires, trains, coaches, reviews and removes staff as necessary.

  • Provide leadership on the planning, implementation and effectiveness of the department’s processes to include project governance, customer success, support operations and service operations.

  • Accountable to the planning execution and monitoring of internal AIT projects, such as Hi-Trust initiatives and the adoption AIT policies.

  • Communicates appropriately and effectively with team members and leadership on status of projects. Maintains awareness of management responsibilities and project status including any potential delays, situations or concerns that may affect their outcomes. Possesses knowledge of new trends in health care information systems available and all platforms required to support applications.

  • Responsible for providing system-wide 24/7 customer service around multiple clinical applications for Clinicians and Providers at AdventHealth Systems and associated facilities staff for approximately 22,000 customers

  • Provides leadership for clinical application teams to include but not limited to the following Cerner Applications and/or Solutions:

  • Leader and co-chair for multi-disciplinary committees; responsible for facilitating agenda, minutes, presentations and follow-up for requests.

Qualifications

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Associates Degree in Management Information Systems, Business, Healthcare, Administration or equivalent years of experience in the field of Healthcare IT

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a leadership role with Financial accountabilities

  • Minimum of 8 years’ Healthcare IT experience

  • Extensive project management experience

  • Vendor management experience

  • Experienced and proven ability to work effectively in a highly-matrixed organization

  • Extensive experience in leading and bringing to fruition successful physician related relationships

  • Extensive experience implementing and managing large scale information systems in a complex multi-faceted, geographically dispersed markets

  • Information systems and technology experience

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED

  • Bachelors Degree in Management Information Systems, Business, Healthcare, Administration

  • Programming and data processing problem analysis experience with an emphasis in healthcare or business applications

  • Master’s in Healthcare Administration or Business Administration, or equivalent years of experience

  • ITSM and ITIL experience preferred

  • Six Sigma & Lean Process Improvement knowledge and or certifications

  • Professional memberships such as HIMSS, ACHE, or CHIME

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, OR REGISTRATION PREFERRED:

  • ITIL Certification

  • Certified Six Sigma Greenbelt

  • CPHIMS or CAHIMS Certified
