Technical Delivery Lead – Duck Creek Claims

How does this role contribute to our collective success?

The Technical Delivery Lead for Duck Creek Claims is the senior most member of the development team responsible for translating business requirements into pragmatic and functional application/technology solutions. This role is responsible for hands on development and day to day driving of other developers toward quality delivery. The lead developer should be a subject matter expert in one or more elements of the application they support including XML/XSLT/XPATH/ASP.NET MVC. Knowledge and expertise in Duck Creek Claims configuration, XSLT transforms, SQL Database queries and procedures. A successful candidate will combine hands on functional/technical skills with the ability to develop solutions and drive a technical delivery team.

What will you do in this role?

  • Responsible for the development efforts for Duck Creek Claims. Provide application development support for Duck Creek Claims and Duck Creek Toolsets. Maintain and update documentation and artifacts for all supported systems.

  • Provide application support and drive resolution of reported problems to customer satisfaction.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the PC insurance with very good understanding of claims, underwriting, rating, insurance rules, forms and billing.

  • Collaborate and partner with vendors, creating a blended / unified team between internal development resources and external vendor resources.

  • Acts as the lead developer for the team – defining best practices, defining standards, ensuring adherence to these, performing code reviews, participating in unit testing and debugging as required.

  • Drives and conducts POCs as required.

  • Participates in code review.

  • Partners with the development lead and project manager in a project/initiative to structure the work streams and plan for delivery of the solution. Includes estimating and assistance in work / activity assignment.

  • Responsible for assuring solutions adhere and further the Enterprise Architectural standards and principles. Acts as a champion for reuse of assets in solution creation.

  • Support implementation of solutions by analyzing current system environments and infrastructure, develop implementation plan and verification procedures, and ensure their execution to deliver successful installation of systems hardware/software.

  • Engage when needed in maintenance and support activities being performed, as well as routine analysis and evaluation on resource requirements necessary to maintain and/or expand service level.

  • Maintain system designs – application, technical, physical topologies.

  • Develop and support code management practices and processes

  • Analyze and tune application performance, supportability, and manageability.

  • Liaise between technical and non-technical resource team members to answer day to day business questions either directly or indirectly as supported by the Business Leads and SMEs

About You:

What you need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Computer Science preferred, or equivalent military experience.

  • Experience developing, and implementing complex integration business solutions and Packaged Insurance Products

  • 3+ years’ experience developing in industry standard programming languages C#, .NET and ASP.Net MVC, XML, XSLT with associated development / testing techniques

  • 3+ years’ experience in XML, XSLT, ASP, MS- SQL server-side and client-side script for browsers

  • Strong experience on Duck creek claims V11 is required.

  • Having detail understanding of Duck Creek Claims Architecture, UI Designs, API’s, Data Models, Events, Components, Modules and Extensions

  • Having detail understanding on Claims Console/Studio including configurations for page designers, extension points, task templates, designing complex rules expressions, outcomes, categories, events, categories

  • Design solutions in detail with the help from the business leveraging out-of-the-box capabilities to the fullest and customizing where needed but in cadence with Duck Creek best practice guidelines

  • Other relevant experience in the technology and business domain they support.

  • Experience working with vendors, system integrators, and/ or in a managed service environment.

  • Experience working in a hybrid agile mode with knowledge of Azure DevOps Board is preferred, Lean and Test-Driven environments

  • Experience developing technical documentation including storyboarding, UML, sequence diagrams, component diagrams, information flows, use cases and presentations

  • What we prefer you to have:

  • Duck creek Claims V12 experience preferred

  • 3 – 8+ years’ experience in P&C Insurance industry in a technology role

  • Experience with Duck Creek Policy Administration and Duck Creek integration

For this position, we currently expect to offer a base salary in the range of 125k to 145k USD (GA). Your salary offer will be based on an assessment of a variety of factors including your specific experience and work location. 

In addition, you will be offered competitive target incentive compensation, with awards based on overall corporate and individual performance. On top of this, you will be eligible for a comprehensive and competitive benefits package which includes medical plans for you and your family, health and wellness programs, retirement plans, tuition reimbursement, paid vacation, and much more.  

Where this role is based in the United States of America, this role is Exempt for FLSA purposes.
