The Director of Sustainability and Inclusion will play a pivotal role in shaping our strategic vision for impact and inclusion. With a primary focus on sustainability, diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI), and partnerships, you will lead efforts to drive positive change and impact in these critical areas. This role will harness digitalization and innovative strategies to drive cross-functional collaborations, empowering teams to accelerate sustainability efforts and promote inclusion. The Director of Sustainability and Inclusion will work with internal and external partners to support strategic business objectives and address stakeholder needs. This role will guide and support the organization toward achieving meaningful sustainability outcomes while championing equity and inclusion across all facets of the business, ensuring that diverse perspectives are valued and included in all decision-making processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Stakeholder Engagement – lead and manage cross-functional projects that drive sustainability initiatives that align with the DEGREE framework. Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement strategies, including social impact, while serving as the liaison to global colleagues to facilitate knowledge sharing across initiatives.

  • Strategic Advisory – interact with customers in the role of strategic advisor and thought leader, offering insights and guidance on strategic initiatives related to sustainability, DEIB, and partnerships. Proactively offer innovative solutions for improving energy efficiency, integrating renewable energy sources, and automating processes.

  • DEIB and Sustainability Visionary – develop and communicate a clear and compelling strategic vision for sustainability, diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEIB), and partnerships that align with Siemens mission, values, and goals.

  • Serve as the catalyst for inclusivity and sustainability by fostering an open-door policy that encourages and protects diverse perspectives, drives innovation, and identifies opportunities for sustainable business growth.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement sustainable technology solutions that not only drive environmental impact but also prioritize equity and inclusivity, ensuring that advancements in sustainability benefit all stakeholders equitably.

  • Alignment Facilitation – collaborate on the development and implementation of mechanisms for measuring and reporting on the effectiveness of memberships and sustainability and DEI initiatives, ensuring transparency and accountability.

  • Pathway Development – develop innovative pathways that combine sustainability and DEI principles, leveraging digital solutions to empower businesses to achieve environmental sustainability goals while fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion.

  • Partnership Development – establish partnerships with key stakeholders to drive collective action toward addressing sustainability challenges and promoting diversity and inclusion in all aspects of the business.

  • Compliance and Accountability – monitor and ensure compliance with relevant sustainability regulation, DEI best practices, and industry standards.

Basic Requirements :

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, engineering, or a related field.

  • 10+ years experience of successfully and creatively driving innovation initiatives.

  • 10+ years experience of proven ability to drive change and innovation in a dynamic environment.

  • 10+ years of experience collaborating with diverse stakeholders to achieve common goals.

  • 10+ years of demonstrating excellent communication and relationship building skills, as well as a genuine passion for sustainability, diversity, equity, and inclusion, with a commitment to making positive impact on the organization and wider community.

  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 30-40%.

  • Ability to work in the US without the need for sponsorship now or in the future.

Preferred Requirements :

  • Advance degree preferred.

  • Knowledge of emerging technologies and trends in the industry.

  • The pay range for this position is $175,000-$200,000 and the annual incentive target is 20% of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications and premium geographic location.
