Ensures compliance and makes recommendations for improvement to ensure adherence to the established policies, procedures and requirements of the EHS & Production functions for the facility. Must be well versed in OSHA regulations, 5S & continuous improvement / lean manufacturing particularly in a manufacturing environment. Must possess a positive attitude, be proactive, a strong communicator, coach, teacher and be highly observant and skilled in various problem-solving techniques aimed at eliminating potential hazards in the workplace & improve production flow process.

Key Job Elements

• Performing all duties and responsibilities in compliance with Progress Rail safety policies;\ Drive production and behavioral safety awareness to eliminate injuries;\ Performs EHS training, including Safety Program.
• Identifies existing & potential Production / EHS problems and participates in developing corrective measures, using 8D Problem Solving Disciplines and 5 Why\'s Root Cause Analysis;\ Ensures compliance with organization & government EHS, Production and Quality standards (i.e. OSHA, etc.);\ Maintains data in EHS management systems;\ Handles regulatory inspections and/or visits;\ Completes reports for submission to EPA, OSHA or other regulatory agencies\ Conducts thorough accident investigations, property damages, with follow up corrective action;\ Learn the production process for the products we produce and the work process flow;
• Assist with covering the production floor tasks; helping to alleviate the production workload of the Shop Manager.
• Identifying bottlenecks then work to alleviate those bottlenecks
