Are you a skilled Civil Engineer with experience? The Department of Transportation is currently looking for a Senior Civil Engineer Supervisor (Transportation). In the position, you will serve as the assistant district permits manager and provide supervision, technical expertise, and professional engineering advice to ensure tasks are done efficiently and in compliance with set policies and regulations. DESCRIPTION OF WORK The primary responsibility of your position involves evaluating driveway and utility applications and granting permits for those that meet the requirements. You will be responsible for identifying complex issues that need to be escalated to the traffic manager or higher management. These complex issues may involve high volume driveway intersections or projects that have significant impact on limited access interstates.

Part of your role will include supervising, coordinating, and reviewing county permit operations, such as the review and issuance of permits, as well as the acceptance of work. You will also be responsible for providing permit program information to applicants, consultants, and other interested individuals. Furthermore, you will need to maintain required permit records and files, process fees, and prepare reports.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch. Telework:  You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Allentown.

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Six years of civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty; and an Engineer-in-Training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists; or Two years of professional civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty, and a bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a closely related engineering discipline; or Five years of civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty; and an Engineer-in-Training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists; and an associate's degree in civil engineering technology or a closely related engineering discipline.

Special Requirement:

This position requires possession of a valid driver's license.

Other Requirements: PA residency requirementis currently waived for this title. You must be able to perform essential job functions.
