Air Products and Chemicals, Inc., a Fortune 500 manufacturer of industrial gases, has an immediate opportunity for a Logistics Distribution Scheduler at our Corporate Headquarters in Allentown, Pennsylvania! This position will work a night shift schedule after training, and we offer HYBRID work arrangements. A Logistics Distribution Scheduler ensures the seamless execution of on-time, reliable, and safe delivery of Oxygen, Nitrogen, Argon, Hydrogen, Helium and CO2 to meet our customer requirements in a cost-effective manner.

As a Logistics Distribution Scheduler, a typical day will include the following:

Schedule our own company driver fleet of over 700 drivers who have CDL Class A / Hazmat and Tanker endorsements.

Formulate delivery schedules for multiple terminals to meet customer demands for various industrial gas product lines.

Work in an IT-enabled environment to optimize delivery schedules and minimize supply chain cost

Assign and pre-plan loads to drivers according to appointment times and driver availability to prevent supply interruptions.

Collaborate closely with operations, customer service, tactical planning, and customer engineering

Meet and exceed productivity goals for operations to minimize miles and maximize volumes delivered to reduce costs.

Respond to frequent real-time delivery changes driven by supply chain events and provide direction to drivers during trip-related activities.

Identify customer usage changes to proactively meet customer requirements and maximize service levels for customer retention.

Maintain key client relationships with suppliers and customers.

Problem-solve with customers and suppliers to identify cost-saving opportunities for the company and customers. Ideal Candidate:

Possesses an analytical mindset; can find and utilize data in multiple IT systems to make sound decisions in a short amount of time

Approaches work independently and in teams with optimism and a solutions oriented mindset to drive towards the goal of being the best in the industry

Has a strategic mindset, sees ahead to future possibilities and identifies opportunities to be cost effective; able to devise plans of action and reassess those plans regularly while being detail and process oriented

Can solve problems in a very fast paced, dynamic environment while effectively and prioritizing work load

Possess strong written and verbal communication skills and able to communicate with respect and integrity when interacting with cross functional teams on a daily basis

Able to work in a high call volume environment while effectively multi-tasking and following up on action items to ensure positive outcomes

Strong computer navigation skills

Customer service experience preferred; continually externally focus to search for ways to meet or exceed customer expectations and exp rience

College degree or Supply Chain/logistical experience is desired

Must be able to work unconventional 12-hour work shifts including nights, weekends and holidays to support a 24/7 operation. Potential to switch to days at a future point.
