Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Highway Design Supervisor in Allentown, Pennsylvania

DESCRIPTION OF WORK The position entails making daily decisions on project design features, including technical issues, design details, coordination with other units/agencies, and supervising subordinate staff. Projects have a broad scope, involving basic highway design studies, preliminary designs, and final design, right-of-way, and construction plans for various highway projects. Completed plans are reviewed by the District Plans Engineer before being sealed by a Professional Engineer (P.E.).

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Allentown. This position is eligible for alternate work schedule after successful completion of probation. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year as a Highway Designer; or Five years of professional experience in highway design work including six months of CADD operation; and an Associate's Degree in civil engineering, drafting, or design technology; or Two years of professional experience in highway design work including six months of CADD operation; and a Bachelor's Degree in civil engineering, or a closely related field; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
