DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will provide lead clerical support to OCYS caseworkers and supervisory staff. This includes preparing, processing, scanning, and filing family service plans as well as processing and organizing case file for openings, closings, transfers, and court. You will assist with conducting random moment surveys, updating worker client cards, and maintaining car seat logs. Other clerical responsibilities include determining supply needs and maintaining supplies for the clerical unit, processing incoming mail, printing labels and handle mailings, distributing incoming faxes, and filing and copying documents.

You will also perform clerical tasks for Child Protective Services and other sensitive, legal, or confidential processes. Additionally, this position acts as the liaison or agency contact person for the FUND to Benefit Children and Youth requests, access to the high-density file room, and maintenance requests. Effective communication with casework staff in the event an emergency arises is essential to minimize length of time required to address concern. In the absence of the Clerical Supervisor, you will coordinate phone coverage schedules as well as provide direction and assistance to support staff as needed. Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Six months as a Clerk Typist 2, and educational development to the level of completion of high school; or One year of progressively complex clerical typing experience and completion of high school; or Six months of moderately complex clerical typing work and completion of a post high school business curriculum; or Any equivalent experience and/or training which provided the required knowledges, skills, and abilities.

Hiring preference for this vacancy may be given to candidates who live within Berks, Bucks, Carbon, Lehigh, Monroe, Montgomery, Northampton, or Schuylkill counties. Legal Requirements: You must pass a background investigation. This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law. Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
