Thank you.Description OverviewProvides comprehensive package engineering support and packaging component expertise through the design, development, and maintenance of packaging standards for various company and outside sub-contracting packaging sites. Scope of the RoleDevelops and prepares packaging specifications and bills of materials, cost estimates and rationalizations, and presents projects for approval.Conducts and documents package testing for component approval or troubleshooting and participates in the selection of packaging component vendors in conjunction with Procurement.Works closely with other Business Units and functional teams to support launch of new products/packages and develop promotions and displays, develops cost savings initiatives, and troubleshoots packaging problems, often leading these efforts.Works closely with other Business Units to troubleshoot and resolve packaging issues associated with packaging component quality, packaging equipment, and packaging line efficiencies.Provide deviation resolutions related to packaging component quality.Coordinates, conducts, and documents packaging line trials for new or improved packaging components.Works closely with team members, managers, and directors to clearly articulate project status, noted issues and potential solutions; escalating issues using red flags or scope changes.Participates in the selection of new equipment and/or tooling.Designs tests or experiments for various packaging components and coordinates the conduction of USP and CR testing at outside laboratories.Shares and imparts technical packaging knowledge to less experienced colleagues, customers and organizations when required.Experience RequiredBachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering or other engineering discipline; 1-7 years of progressively responsible packaging development experience, preferably in a Pharmaceutical Operations Environment.Possesses thorough knowledge of cGMPs, USP Testing and CR protocol testing.Ability to execute testing protocols for a wide variety of packaging components.Proven ability to work independently toward specific goals and to exercise initiative in identifying projects.Strong analytical skills including the ability to develop sound economic analysis, problem solving skills, interpersonal skills, and a commitment to customer service.Demonstrated comprehensive knowledge of methods in package design, testing, and packaging materials, tooling, methods improvement, material handling, ergonomics, and project management skills.External applicants please note: To apply to this position please click the APPLY button at the bottom of the application.
