We are seeking an experiencedTechnical Writer who has a proven track record of successfully implementing and maintaining records management systems, delivering presentations and communicating clear ideas to multiple levels of understanding, and adapting to new challenges and expectations.

Position Summary:

As a Technical Writer within HCI, your primary responsibility will be to develop and recommend policies that align with organizational goals and best practices. You’ll play a crucial role in shaping the organization’s strategic direction by conducting in-depth research, analyzing policy issues, and ensuring legal compliance. Additionally, your engagement with stakeholders—including government officials, advocacy groups, and industry associations—will contribute to effective policy implementation.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Determine the clearest and most logical way to present information for greatest reader comprehension

  • Generate innovative ideas for content and workflow solutions

  • Meet with subject-matter experts to ensure specialized topics are appropriately addressed

  • Analyze information required for the development or update of policy, procedure and form documentation

  • Research, organize, write, edit, and format technical information to produce high-quality documents for a specific audience

  • Create clear, concise, and comprehensive documentation that explains complex technical information in an understandable manner

  • Work closely with product teams, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure that manuals, how-to guides, and other documents accurately represent the product’s functionality and user requirements

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as journalism, technical communication, or similar

  • One to three (1-3) years’ experience writing complete, complex technical documents, including organizing the document and working with internal and external personnel (e.g., agencies, customer) is required

  • Experience writing technical documents for education institutions is preferred

  • Previous military and/or mechanical aptitude/experience is preferred

  • Previous experience for the Department of Defense (DoD) is preferred
