Aerotek Maintenance Technician in Alexandria, Virginia

Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Job Description

Will be performing repairs and preventive maintenance on food processing equipment. Repairs will be both mechanical and electrical. Will also be responsible for breaking down machinery to be cleaned and startup of the machinery. Will be limited troubleshooting as the machines aren't running at night. Will work within a CMMS system for PMs and work orders.

Hard Skills

  • Intermediate level of mechanical experience

  • Intermediate level of Electrical/Control experience

  • Install electrical/electronic devices and systems used in manufacturing facilities and plants

  • Experience with reading electrical schematics

  • Troubleshoot electrical equipment using Ladder logic and electrical schematics

  • Intermediate level of pneumatic and hydraulic system troubleshooting

  • Experience with pneumatics, power transmission, pulleys, chains, sprockets, drives, motors, conveyors

  • Experience or familiarity with control voltage; 24V and then 3 phase up to 480V

Job Type

This is a permanent position.

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Alexandria, Virginia.

Work Environment

The facility is a food manufacturing plant. Will need to follow GMP's daily. The facility is a refrigerated environment. 1 opening on 2nd shift 4:00pm - 12:00am. Will be given gowns and steel-toed boots for the facility and tools will be provided both basic and specialty. If candidates want to bring their own basic tools, they have the option to do so. First day: Orientation the following week will start usually at 8am or 9am Monday morning and be for a couple of hours. GMP training is included.
