This position serves as an IT Specialist for all phases of systems lifecycle including planning, management, development, and execution. If selected, you will be responsible for achieving Patent business priorities in automation development. Responsibilities The physical worksite for this position is located in Alexandria, Virginia. This position is telework eligible per agency and business unit discretion/policy. You have excellent skills in analyzing and evaluating work concerned with integrated systems of computer programs and/or computer equipment. Identify actual or potential problem areas for study and resolution. You are highly effective in leading task forces/project teams in advanced system software/hardware project efforts. You have experience in coordinating technical elements, planning, coordinating, implementing, migrating and assisting in managing risk with a variety of IT security issues to support the delivery in automated tools and information. Coordinates system implementation and deployment activities. Applies available technologies and basic management principles to adapt computer methods to a variety of subject matter situations. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications You must meet the United States Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) qualification requirements (including specialized experience and/or educational requirements) for the advertised position. Specialized Experience is experience that has equipped applicants with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes: Experience coordinating and providing technical advice and guidance on advanced system software and hardware projects. This experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Researching. interpreting, and applying patent laws and policies regarding IT governance and compliance; 2) Leading and supporting Information Technology (IT) work to analyze, coordinate, or conduct the design, development, test & evaluation, integration, or life-cycle management of Information Technology systems and processes; 3) Communicating with and leading sessions with a wide variety of stakeholders including IT professionals, business subject matter experts, product owners, and senior leaders to gather requirements for a variety of business and/or data management needs both orally and in writing; and 4) experience providing system administration and troubleshooting in support of initial triage, incident response and data correction. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Education Education may not be substituted for specialized experience at this grade level. This is a Bargaining Unit position. This is a Public Trust position and has a risk level designation of "moderate".
