Infinity Systems Engineering Systems Engineer in Albuquerque, New Mexico
Infinity Systems Engineering is seeking a dynamic and experienced Systems Engineer (SE) to support the execution of engineering efforts for the Space Systems and Hardware Integration for Novel Space Experiments (SSHINE) program in Albuquerque, New Mexico, at Kirtland Air Force Base. The primary responsibilities of this role are ensuring customer technical success, managing engineering execution, and ensuring compliance with customer requirements.
This position is suited for mid- to advanced-career candidates and beyond.

Primary Responsibilities
Technical Execution
System Requirements Definition and Analysis: Collaborate with stakeholders to define and analyze system requirements, ensuring alignment with space and ground system objectives
MBSE Implementation: Develop and maintain system models using MBSE tools (e.g., SysML) to capture system architecture, requirements, and design, enabling effective communication across teams
Architecture Design: Support the creation of system architectures, ensuring they are scalable, reliable, and meet program requirements for both space and ground systems
System Integration Planning: Develop integration plans for both space and ground systems, ensuring all subsystems work cohesively and meet mission objectives
Verification and Validation (V&V): Support the development of test plans and procedures, perform verification activities, and ensure the system meets performance and quality standards
Risk Management: Identify, assess, and manage system risks, ensuring mitigation strategies are developed and implemented for space and ground systems
Interface Definition and Control: Define and manage interfaces between subsystems, ensuring proper data flow and compatibility between space and ground systems
Technical Documentation: Prepare technical documentation, including system specifications, design documents, and test reports, to ensure proper system definition and traceability
Collaboration Across Disciplines: Work closely with other engineering disciplines (e.g., hardware, software, and test engineers) to ensure integration of space and ground system components
Support to Program Management: Provide technical insights and status updates to program management, ensuring timely delivery of milestones and addressing any issues or roadblocks
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum of 5+ years of systems engineering experience, preferably within the DoD industry. (Communications systems is highly preferred)
Experience with DoD space missions and programs
Experience with all phases of the standard systems engineering lifecycle
Proficiency in using MBSE tools (e.g., SysML, Cameo, Innoslate) to develop system models, support architecture design, and manage requirements
Strong understanding of system architecture principles, including both space and ground systems, and ability to design scalable and reliable solutions
Expertise in gathering, analyzing, and defining system requirements, and ensuring traceability from concept through validation
Knowledge of system integration practices and testing methodologies, including defining interfaces, creating test plans, and ensuring system verification and validation
Ability to identify, assess, and manage technical risks, and develop mitigation strategies to address potential challenges in space and ground system development
Strong organizational skills

Problem-solving and critical-thinking capabilities
Work Environment/Physical Requirements
Primarily office-based, with a standard workweek of Monday to Friday, that could include support outside of normal work week hours
May involve technical work to be completed by PM on relevant Programs
May involve occasional travel to client locations, project sites, or conferences
Professional, fast-paced, and team-oriented environment
Requires adherence to security protocols and DoD regulations
Ability to sit for extended periods
Work Schedule
This is a full-time position, typically working 40+ hours per week. Some travel may be required to client locations, project sites, or conferences.
Education/Experience
Master’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM), Information Technology, computer science or similar from a regionally accredited institution; Master’s degree preferred.
Clearance Requirement
Active DoD Top-Secret clearance with SCI.
