Summary/Objective: Responsible for the design, estimate, and project management of a variety of HVAC, Plumbing and process systems. Create and maintain business by preparing and presenting estimates and proposals to new and existing customers while maintaining a healthy pipeline of potential jobs for future business development. Responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating all activities concerned with the construction project and oversee its organization, scheduling, budgeting, and implementation. Responsible for the completion of each project in a timely and profitable manner. Ability to manage multiple projects varying in size and scope.

Essential Functions

  • Minimum 5 years project management or related experience in HVAC, plumbing and process systems.

  • Promote a safe and injury-free work environment for each project.

  • Extensive knowledge of both Uniform Plumbing Code and Uniform Mechanical Code as used in NM.

  • Read, interpret, and understand construction plans, drawings, and specifications at an expert level.

  • Expert knowledge of and interconnection between mechanical piping and HVAC systems.

  • Generate and follow up on internal and new project sales leads.

  • Develop and maintain customer relationships with owners, developers, architects, and contractors.

  • Experience with design and estimating of HVAC, plumbing and process systems.

  • Prepare and submit budget estimates, progress and/or cost tracking reports to VPFO for review.

  • Manage material, labor, and project budget throughout project lifetime.

  • Prepare contracts or negotiate revisions to contractual agreements with architects, consultants, clients, suppliers, or subcontractors.

  • Confer with supervisory personnel, owners, contractors, or design professionals to discuss and resolve matters, such as work procedures, complaints, or construction problems.

Responsibilities/Duties

  • Provide cost proposals as a result of deficiency reports generated by field technicians

  • Provide value engineering and budgeting, as necessary.

  • Provide accurate estimates and budgets to owners, developers, architects, and contractors.

  • Create or review all take-off sheets to coordinate with the sheet metal/pipe fabrication shop foreman to ensure proper fabrication and determine delivery schedule.

  • Participate in preliminary job/safety walk meetings, monthly billing meeting, regular job site inspections and final close out meetings.

  • Prepare change orders for additions and deletions and direct field foremen to complete.

  • Prepare and submit internal budget estimates, progress reports, or cost tracking reports.

  • Inspect and review projects to monitor compliance with specifications/blueprints, building and safety codes.

  • Coordinate project work with PAs: documentation, scheduling, changes, subcontractors, etc.

  • Work with Foreman and Purchasing on material and equipment procurements.

  • Manage activities during warranty timeframe.

  • Other industry related functions as directed by management.

Education/Experience:

  • 5 years project management or related experience related to HVAC, plumbing and process systems.

Physical demands:

  • Frequent walking, bending, standing, climbing, kneeling, and lifting up to 40 lbs.
