What Your Job Will Be Like:
Organization 10512, Payroll Services, is currently seeking an Accounting Cost Analyst Payroll Professional to join their team!
The selected candidate will assume responsibility as the functional lead running pay including planning, organizing, and processing bi-weekly/monthly payroll per policies and procedures to ensure payroll is processed accurately and timely. This includes garnishments, special allowances, retroactive payments, benefit accounting, absences, taxes, and other payroll related duties.
On any given day, one may be called upon to:
Work under the guidance and leadership of the Payroll Manager
Team with other functional Payroll leads to coordinate Payroll activities
Assist with change management and process improvements of systems availability, functionality, and performance
Communicate regularly with other departments, including HR, Relocation, Compensation, Fee, Travel & Treasury, and others
Maintain knowledge of payroll processing system enhancements and changes
Maintain knowledge of wage and tax laws changes to assist with Payroll operational compliance
Investigate labor processing matters to determine root cause analysis and determine appropriate action
Support audits of Time and Labor and Payroll system
Test applicable time administration/labor processes
Update procedures and job aids to ensure accuracy and relevance
Reconcile multiple general ledger accounts
Be responsible for estimating payroll accrual and vacation accrual forecasts
Perform other duties as assigned to support the general functions of the position, as well as Payroll, Division, and Laboratory objectives
Salary Range:
$85,100 - $164,100
*Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.
Qualifications We Require:
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, plus a minimum of 5 years of Payroll experience; or equivalent experience and/or achievements that demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the duties of the job
Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE L-level security clearance
Qualifications We Desire:
Certified Payroll Professional designee
Experience with PeopleSoft and or Oracle HCM Cloud payroll systems
