Description

Robert Half is currently seeking a skilled Contract Attorney to join our client's legal team on a contractual basis. The ideal candidate will have experience in various areas of law, with a focus on contract drafting, negotiation, and review. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated New Mexico Licensed attorney looking to gain valuable experience and work with a dynamic team in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts, including but not limited to, commercial agreements, employment contracts, vendor agreements, and lease agreements.

  • Conduct legal research and provide analysis on contract-related issues, ensuring compliance with state and federal laws and regulations.

  • Advise clients on contract matters, including rights, obligations, and potential risks associated with contractual relationships.

  • Assist in the development and implementation of contract management processes and procedures to streamline operations and mitigate legal risks.

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including business units and senior management, to assess contractual needs and objectives.

  • Review contract templates and standardize language to improve efficiency and consistency in contract drafting and negotiation.

  • Assist in the resolution of contract disputes and provide legal guidance on dispute resolution strategies, including negotiation, mediation, and litigation when necessary.

  • Stay updated on changes in contract law and legal trends that may impact the organization's operations and contractual relationships.

  • Participate in contract negotiations and meetings with clients, vendors, and other third parties as needed.

  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervising attorneys or senior management.

    Requirements

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

  • Admission to the New Mexico State Bar and license to practice law in good standing.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience practicing law, with a focus on contract drafting, negotiation, and review.

  • Strong knowledge of contract law principles and best practices, with the ability to apply legal concepts to real-world scenarios.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly and effectively.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Proficiency in legal research tools and databases, such as Westlaw or LexisNexis.

  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and build positive working relationships.

  • Commitment to upholding ethical standards and maintaining client confidentiality.
