Bohannan Hustonis currently seeking a student intern to join our

Construction Engineering Groupin our Albuquerque, NM office. This position is for the summer, with the possibility of continuing into the school year.

As a student intern in our Construction Engineering Group, you would be involved in numerous tasks that could include assisting with:

Construction Engineering:

• Construction Observation - Shadow and provide assistance to Seasoned Inspectors in the field, including documentation process and interactions with project Contractors.
• Learn how to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
• Attend progress meetings in the field that will include site visits of numerous types of construction.
• Practice field safety and learn proper protocol while in the field.

Field and Lab Materials Testing:

• Shadow and provide assistance to experienced Materials Technicians in the field and lab.
• Learn the how-and-why concepts behind construction materials testing requirements.
• Interpret data, perform calculations and use spreadsheets as a tool to assist with these operations.
• Assist and conduct materials laboratory tests per ASTM and AASHTO procedures.
• Assist with retrieving field samples of different types of construction materials.
• General maintenance of lab equipment and assisting with general laboratory tasks.

WHO YOU ARE

• You are working toward a bachelor's or associate degree in a related engineering field of study such as Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Engineering, Construction Management, Surveying, Architecture, and/or Materials Science.
• You have at least a 3.0 GPA, and have shown a commitment to academic focus, leadership and delivering high quality solutions and products.
• You have excellent written and verbal communication, are a great listener, and are prompt, polished, and specific in your responses.
• You are determined, organized, and detail oriented.
• You are customer focused.
• You have an entrepreneurial spirit with a desire to learn and grow.
• You welcome feedback and find ways to do your work better.
• You are eager to make your work more efficient by learning and mastering various engineering technologies.
