    SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
  • Responsible for customer accounts and maintains credit and collections.

  • Answering phone calls.

  • Collecting payment from customers.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    Acts as Credit Manager for Division.

  • Monitors accounts and attempts to keep them current by contacting customers by telephone and/or letter correspondence on a monthly basis.

  • Monitors accounts exceeding credit limits and makes recommendations based on previous payment history.

  • Answers accounts receivable inquiries from customers, calls and/or mails correspondence to customers as necessary to update accounts.

  • Process credit applications by obtaining supplier references, credit references from Dun & Bradstreet and other misc. credit bureaus.

  • Researches and processes customer claims of invoice payment.

    Responsible for various duties and other special projects as assigned by the Office Manager and/or Controller.

    Marginal Job Tasks:
  • Answer telephones and backs up receptionist when necessary.

  • Acts as back up for title works and contracts for truck deals when necessary.

  • Acts as back up for weekly payroll.

    Qualifications:

    Minimum high school diploma required; any additional accounting courses favorable, but not required. Minimum two to three year previous experience in similar accounting position and previous experience with computer for automated accounting system. Be able to read and write English. Be able to read computer generated reports, office reports, invoices, etc. Be able to compute numbers manually, or by use of calculator or computer, it is also required to be able to operate computer terminals with keyboard and mouse, 10-key calculator, fax machine, and other office equipment. Must be able to use communicative skills to interact with customers, vendors, and co-workers in a positive and constructive manner.

    Language Skills:

    Read and write the English Language.

    Physical Demands:

    Position involves essential ability to sit, maneuver from one work area to another, being able to bend and squat, and manipulate small objects. Involves some lifting and maneuvering of boxes of computer paper and storage boxes. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

    Work Environment:

    Position contains extensive level of stress and requires ability to handle multiple tasks smoothly. Requires regular, predictable attendance.
