The Department of Corrections, State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Albion is currently seeking a creative and highly-motivated Corrections Painting Trade Instructor with a passion for teaching. DESCRIPTION OF WORK As a Painting Trade Instructor for the Department of Corrections, you will be responsible for providing on-the-job training and shop instruction to inmates regarding the practices, methods, and procedures of the painting trade. This includes demonstrating and explaining the methods, procedures, materials, and tools used in hanging wall paper and vinyl wall coverings, as well as providing instruction on coating, inspecting, repairing, and maintaining various surfaces. You will be responsible for providing supervision, security, and custody for inmates assigned to work detail, ensuring order and discipline is maintained.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment, 40-hours per week Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Four years of experience in mixing and applying paint, stain, and other finishes to a variety of building surfaces; or Completion of an approved apprenticeship in the painting trade; or An equivalent combination of experience and training which includes one year of journey level work in the painting trade.

Other Requirements: Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania is required. You must meet thePA residency requirement.
