Job Title: Statewide Disaster Mental Health TrainerGrade: 23 Salary: $80,026 - $91,122The Research Foundation for Mental Hygiene, Inc. is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the full-time position of Disaster Mental Health Statewide Trainer within the New York State Office of Mental Health's Bureau of Emergency Preparedness & Response (BEPR). BEPR is the lead agency for emergency preparedness in the state. The position provides disaster mental health training to statewide responders in-person and virtually. This position is a 2-year grant position under the Safer Communities Block Grant which has the potential for being extended. This Grant is tasked with coordinating a Statewide Disaster Mental Health Strategy with NYS Division of Homeland Security (DHSES) and The State University of New York (SUNY) at New Paltz’s Institute for Disaster Mental Health (IDMH). The funding will be used to collaborate with additional State and local partners on the development and implementation of a robust emergency response system as well as a sustainability strategy to ensure the needs of individuals in New York State with serious mental illness (SMI) and children with severe emotional disturbance (SED) are met during a disaster or traumatic community event.The successful candidate will need to be proficient in virtual meeting platforms including Webex, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Microsoft Office. The candidate should exhibit professional training experience as it relates to facilitation and teaching of materials. The candidate should be able to work independently and as part of a team. Duties and Responsibilities:Duties and Responsibilities:•Responsible for facilitating full day trainings in Disaster Mental Health to responders and community partner across the state working closely with Disaster Mental Health Response Team Leads and Program Coordinator.•Assist in planning and scheduling training events as needed.•Provide curriculum feedback and development assistance.•Meet with DMH Team Leads in both regions and Program Coordinator for all trainings.•This position requires 50 percent travel time.Minimum Qualifications:•A bachelor’s degree in a health-related field.•At least 2 years’ experience in conducting trainings.•Must have proficiency with presentation technology including Microsoft PowerPoint and virtual presentation platforms, projectors and large-screen formats, internet connectivity, and both wired and wireless components.•3 years of experience working in mental health field.•A valid driver’s license.
